Course Description
All managers require information to understand how well their businesses are performing, whether new ventures can achieve a reasonable profit, how much debt to take on, etc. on the other having the knowledge to analyse and understand financials is a prerequisite to increasing the value of a company. This course is designed to provide knowledge, skills and experience on how to evaluate past performance and plan for future investments: capital projects and acquisitions.

- Provide comprehensive information on financial analysis in areas of planning and control suited to anyone on any level desiring this information for either professional or personal use.
Course Objectives
By the end of this training, delegates should be able to:
- Qualitatively and quantitatively defines, reviews, and illustrates the principles of corporate finance, including profit/loss, asset and cash management, operational budgets, cost analysis, profitability, leverage, and decision and risk.
- Interpret numbers in the financial statements.
- Be proficient at calculating and interpreting financial ratios.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to use ratios to compare a firm to its competitors and to evaluate changes in ratios over time.
- Use these ratios to help forecast the future
- Manage the structure of the income statement and the balance sheet to increase shareholder value.
- Choose the right metrics for evaluating a company's solvency.
- Determine your company's debt capacity - how much you can safely borrow.
- Use the statement of cash flow to measure success
- Create a capital project evaluation spreadsheet
- Determine which metrics to use to evaluate capital projects
