Course Description

Finance management includes applying management principles to the financial assets of an organization, while also play an important part in fiscal management. The art of working with financials comes naturally, while for others it can appear to be somewhat daunting. Finance Management Skills course is designed to provide managers with advanced knowledge of and skills in capital budgeting, financial statement analysis, and cash flow management and analysis.

The Aims of the Course

The course aims to:

• Equip participants with the knowledge and skills to apply financial management tools and techniques in business for effective decision-making.

• Analyse and evaluate the financial viability of selected projects;
• Explain the drivers of a company’s cost of capital and calculate the cost of capital, WACC;
• Determine the value of a company based on the discounted cash flow method;
• Calculate investment & return ratios such as return on equity (ROE), return on investment (ROI) and debt ratio, Payback Period, IRR, and NPV; and,
• Understand and apply the accounting conventions, which include consistency, going concern, prudence, realization, disclosure, objectivity and matching.
