Course Description

Interest in occupational safety and health started with the beginning of civilization. Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) is a main important point to minimise the occurrence of accidents and diseases at workplaces. The OSH management system at national level encompasses more than just health and safety program but includes health and safety policies, systems, standards, and records, and involves incorporating health and safety activities and programs into national processes.

The Aims of the Course

The course aims to:

• To enhance the standardisation of comprehensive and systematic approaches
• Share the knowledge and best practices to improve the working conditions and the surrounding environment.
• Systemise OSH Management at national level.

Course Objectives

By the end of this training, delegates should be able to:

• Identify measures to encourage improvements in the safety and health of workers at work,
• Show the understanding of the provisions of the Occupational safety and health legislative framework;
• Take leadership in developing and implementing an OH&S program
• Develop OSH MS that contribute explicitly to organisational strategy and business goals, as well as deliver OSH benefits;
• factor business ethics and organisational learning processes into the design and functioning of OSH MS;
• Influence the establishment occupational safety and health (OSH) management systems at all workplaces for continual improvement of working environment and preventive measures;
• Develop useful and practical sets of performance indicators in order to monitor and steer the development of OSH MS and OSH performance at national level.
