Course Description
Jobs are a critical concern to any nation across the World. In some parts of the World, job creation has been aligned with climate change mitigation policies, activities, and approaches in an effort to move people and households out of poverty through the provision of productive and decent jobs. In addition, efforts are also visible everywhere to improve existing jobs. The International labour Organisation (ILO) clearly recognizes investing in full and productive employment and positioning it at the heart of development policy is critical in creating decent work and fostering social justice in all countries.
The Aims of the Course
The course aims to:
- To impart practical knowledge, skills and competence to varying stakeholders in all industries needed to improve the design and implementation of policies intended to promote job creation through identification, measuring and assessing the employment effects of economic, sectoral, trade-related or labour market policies.
Course Objectives
By the end of this training, delegates should be able to:
- Make informed decisions about how to best measure and evaluate the results of interventions to promote decent jobs for women and men
- Advise on policy design in particular focus on vulnerable groups as youth, rural populations and informal workers.
- Carry out an effective employment impact assessment
- Identify the most suitable method to assess a given type of employment promotion intervention
- Share the knowledge and skills learnt with others in their workplace.
